How to buy a new or used car.
Thanks for welcoming me to Today.com. It is my goal to help educate car buyers so the process can not only save money but be as enjoyable as possible. With 17 years experience in the car business I have learned that taking care of a customer and helping get the best deal for them is the most important thing a dealer can do to create loyal advocates. My customers kept coming back to me for years because they knew they could trust that I had their best interests in mind. OK. Enough about me.
Most people would rather go to a dentist than go shopping for a car. Let me re-phrase that. Most people would rather go to a dentist than deal with a dealer and their sales people. The idea of getting a new or new to you used car is actually very exciting. Who doesn’t get excited about replacing the old with a newer car?
The problem is dealing with the salesperson. There are so many BAD sales people that finding one that you are comfortable with is not easy. Or should I say until the past few years. For years now shopping online for used or new car prices has been on the increase. Nearly 90% do so before ever purchasing. One of the great things about shopping online is the opportunity to feel out the dealer and or salesperson. No need to waste your time visiting a dealer if you don’t feel comfortable with the sales person. It isn’t hard to tell if a sales person is sincerely interested in helping you. Ask the tough questions and you will find out really quick.
Be sure to have an open mind and allow the sales person to ask questions so he/she can make suggestions. Always communicate with a smile. If a sales person thinks that he/she has made a connection with you, they will work much harder to help you get the deal you are looking for. Don’t get me wrong, it is the sales person’s job to make the most profit possible for the dealership and their paycheck. However, they would rather sell you a car than loose your business.
